Designed to wash out sticky clay, mud, and organic impurities from crushed sand or natural gravel, yielding clean construction-grade sand.

1. Process Overview & Flowchart Explanation

The Sand Washing and Dewatering Plant removes excessive silt, deleterious clay minerals, and organic debris from natural sand or manufactured crusher dust. Unwashed sand is mixed in a washing vat/spiral unit where water immersion disintegrates clay agglomerates and thoroughly scrubs sand grain surfaces.

The clean slurry is pumped to Hydrocyclone Separators for ultra-fine desliming and micro-fines recovery. The cyclone underflow discharges onto the polyurethane deck of a High Frequency Dewatering Screen, removing surface moisture down to 12–15% for immediate stacker conveyor stockpiling. Silt-laden cyclone overflow water flows to a High Efficiency Thickener for solid flocculation and closed-loop process water recycling.

2. Technical Advantages & Features

  • High Cleanliness & Low Silt Content: Drops clay and silt content to below 1.5%, meeting strict international ASTM and BS aggregate standards.
  • Fine Sand Recovery: Hydrocyclone separators capture fine sand particles (0.075–0.16 mm), preventing valuable sand loss in wash waters.
  • Dry Stackable End Product: High-frequency linear vibration dries sand to 12-15% moisture, allowing immediate transport and dry stockpiling.
  • Closed-Loop Zero Discharge: Over 95% of wash water is clarified and recirculated back to the plant, eliminating water waste and settling ponds.
