Gold CIL / CIP Cyanide Leaching Plant

Start Project
Gold CIL / CIP Cyanide Leaching Plant

Advanced gold cyanidation extraction plants providing continuous agitation leaching, carbon adsorption, and tailings dewatering.

1. Process Overview & Flowchart Explanation

The Gold CIL / CIP Cyanidation Plant is the global standard for processing oxidized, clay-rich, and fine microscopic refractory gold ores. Crushed gold ore is finely ground in a Mineral Processing Ball Mill with Hydrocyclone Separators to reach 85-90% passing 74 microns (-200 mesh). The pulp is pre-thickened to 40-45% solids in a center-drive High Efficiency Thickener to optimize leaching density and reduce cyanide consumption.

The thickened slurry flows through a train of 6 to 8 Cyanide Leaching Agitation Tanks equipped with dual planetary low-shear impellers and compressed air spargers. Sodium cyanide dissolves the fine gold into a gold cyanide complex [Au(CN)2]-, which is simultaneously adsorbed onto coconut shell activated carbon. Loaded carbon is pumped out for elution and electrowinning, while barren pulp is filtered through a Disc Vacuum Filter for cyanide detoxification and dry tailings stacking.

2. Technical Advantages & Features

  • Superior Extraction Efficiency: Dual-impeller leaching tanks maintain uniform suspension and high oxygen transfer, achieving 92-97% gold extraction.
  • Low Carbon Attrition: Specially contoured impellers eliminate carbon breakage and fine carbon gold loss.
  • High Slurry Density Optimization: Thickener dewatering stabilizes pulp density, cutting reagent costs by up to 20%.
  • Environmental Compliance: Final vacuum filtration permits cyanide recovery, process water recycling, and safe dry tailings disposal.
